Save yourself the trouble, not worth it. =(

Review: I saw the “Best Buy” sticker and I had such high hopes! The sticker lies thick deep lies. I swear, I am having some really bad trust issues with these red wines. Almost each and every one I have tasted resembles dirt in one fashion or another.¬† The taste of this wine was atrocious, it is really hard to describe. I do know that when I get around to it, I am either going to have to pour it out or quickly find a way to cook with wine in order to get my money’s worth. I do not recommend this wine to anyone, unless they are my dearest enemy.

Sutter Home - White Zinfadel

It took a bit, but this wine is drinkable…barely.

Review: Friday night was when it all started, I figured I would try my wine like I normally would and everything would be hunky dory. I was definitely wrong. This wine was first on the agenda and to my dismay I found out rather quickly that it was really bitter and dry. It is drinkable mind you, but just barely…I do have to say that if you want to get drunk though, this wine is the one for you! Only two of these baby bottles literally put me under the table which really surprised me. I would recommend this wine to people who have already had a plethora of wines under their belt because this one is not for the feint of heart. Overall, it didn’t taste so bad that I couldn’t drink it but it was really close.

A Dastardly Night of Threes: Sutter Home-Cabernet Sauvignon California

Short And Quick Review: This wine is just as delightful as Red Velvet…(internet sarcasm)

Brand: Sutter Home

Type: Cabernet Sauvignon

Cost: $5-11

Sutter Home Cabernet Sauvignon

Leave this one at the store…forever.

Review: This was second on the list of wines to try that night. I wish I would have kept the darn thing in the fridge honestly…I opened the bottle, took a sip, poured out the contents so no one would have to taste it ever again. I would not recommend this wine to anyone because of the overpowering taste (if you can call it that) which invades your mouth and is there to stay. I couldn’t handle this wine at all, the flavor made me sick to my stomach and I don’t even think this wine would be good to cook with. I really wish I could have left this one at the store rather than spending the small amount I did on it…well now you know a wine to definitely avoid.

An Apology

With this weekend that just passed I did indeed try some new wine, but I drank a little too much and the penalty was a fuzzy memory of what the wine actually tasted like. So as an apology, (however lame it is) I will be reviewing three bottles rather than my usual two, and it will be delayed slightly until tomorrow evening at the latest. (I have to re-drink the wine to get the flavors right and such.)

Sutter Home Sauvignon Blanc California – Oh so bitter…

Very bitter but hits the spot!

Very bitter but hits the spot!

Review: After having the Sutter Home – Merlot, I needed something that would possibly taste better, so I gave the Sauvignon Blanc California a try. I was kind of disappointed because it was just so bitter. It is pretty darn easy to drink with Chinese food I found out, and the taste isn’t too horribly bad, it’s just very strong. I gave it a decent try but it really is hard to drink if you just want to enjoy a nice wine. If you want to get a nice buzz with an O.K. tasting wine this is the one for you.

I gotta say that at first I totally thought this was a Reisling or a Moscato...way wrong

I gotta say that at first I totally thought this was a Reisling or a Moscato…way wrong…

Review: So, not much to say about this wine, other than I am losing faith in the Cupcake Vineyards brand. =/ This is the first chardonnay I have ever tried, and I have to say that it’s pretty much…meh. I mean, this wine is like a sweet strong punch to the face. The taste is slightly sweet but definitely bitter, and doesn’t resemble Angel Food cake in the slightest. At least with the Red Velvet wine I had tried its damndest to be a pastry. But I digress, the wine tasted a lot better after I added some Triple Sec that I had handy and boom! It tasted just like sweet water! What could go wrong?! I mean, I even had this wine with Pizza! The delicious pizza had no effect on the taste, and I doubt I will buy this wine again in the future. This is probably an acquired taste, but even a moderate wine drinker would probably be able to handle this wine. They wouldn’t like it, but they wouldn’t pour it out either.

I will NEVER purchase this wine EVER again!

I had such high hopes…then it went all downhill after it was uncorked…

Review:¬†Just as a forewarning, you have to have one heck of an acquired taste to actually enjoy this wine! (I get pretty harsh with this one…) Yeah, I am definitely still learning the intricacies in the world of wine, and I have my first wine to add to my DO NOT PURCHASE LIST! =( I knew that Red Wines are a lot different from White Wines, and you pretty much have to pay some hefty cash to find a sweet Red Wine that tastes good, but I never knew that a wine could taste this bad. This wine in-particular has 3 stages: Taste, After Taste, and an After After Taste. The initial taste starts off O.K., with a slight sweetness and then it wreaks havoc on your taste buds in the worst way imaginable. The aftertaste, if you can imagine I guess would taste like mud, and that’s after it’s already gone down your throat. Then in the final stage, all of a sudden there is a miniscule burst of flavor that tastes like Red Velvet that lasts maybe a millisecond and disappears forever! All of my hopes and dreams were crushed with this one wine.

Now that I think about it though, this might be a good wine to cook with, but I have no idea…seeing as how I poured the rest of it out, I doubt I will ever know. x.x
