Oh god, its like drinking the desert – it’s so dry!

Review: So, if you haven’t caught on yet, this wine is freaking DRY! I mean, it’s O.K. overall for any average wine but god, it just makes you thirsty for water somehow. This one was a definite impulse buy but I guess it was worth it. It has a decent flavor, it was slightly bitter but I have no idea what it tastes like with food so don’t ask. I guess buy this if you’ve run out of wines to try, which is pretty much impossible…but you know what I mean.

Review: Yeah, this one was just bought on a whim, and it is not half bad. Great starting wine for anyone looking to start drinking wine. It has a decent flavor, and it is really good to drink and relax with. I think it goes to show that cheap can indeed be a blessing in disguise. If you have never tried wine before, give it a shot, wine indeed has a way to put you at ease more so than other drinks can.

Yep...I kinda forgot about this one...

Yep…I kinda forgot about this one…

Review: Sooo…If you remember when I bought all of those little bottles of Sutter Home wines…I was under the impression that I had already tried all of the ones I had bought. Well this one was tucked behind a jumbo container of Yogurt that I just found today! YAY! But, to put it simply…this wine is bitter…like hardcore. I can still drink it though, which is a plus because there is no greater travesty than buying a new wine that you don’t want to drink. I would definitely not recommend this to new wine tasters because the bitterness is overpowering. If you want to get a nice buzz though, this wine delivers quickly in that regard. All in all, just be careful with this one. It really has a taste that you have to get accustomed to in order to like it…

Mad Dog 20/20-Red Grape Wine

Actually didn’t taste half bad.

Review: Huzzah!!! Another good tasting red wine!!! (I haven’t had much luck in the past with these darker red wines). But, as a whole this wine is sweet, cheap, and hits the spot with some good food. I got perpetually smashed by drinking the MD 20/20-Orange Jubilee wine and this one, which at the time was a good thing until I got sick the next day which was no fun. BUT alas, I will not bash the wine for getting me sick. It has a definitive taste that reminds me of spiked punch. I would probably recommend this wine to newbies and avid wine drinkers because it’s pretty tasty. The only drawback is the aftertaste that rides for a while on the tongue after consumption. It is like the alcohol kinda sticks to the taste buds and won’t let go. So just be weary.

Cheap-o Wine: Mad Dog 20/20 – Orange Jubilee

Short And Quick Review: For the most part, it is drinkable. But this is a low step to go if you want to experience wine on the cheap…

Mad Dog 20/20

Yes, this is wine. Surprising…no?

Review: I actually drank this wine a week ago…with two other wines…and it was not a good idea. I was sicker than a dog the next day, which makes the name more…meaningful. (Yeah, lets go with that). Needless to say, for the amount of alcohol you get for the $4 you spend, this wine can hit you pretty hard depending on how much you can swallow. The first drink begins with a great reminiscence of Sunny Delight with a light kick. Then the alcohol comes to the surface on the second drink and any thereafter. I can say that it literally tasted more like a badly mixed screwdriver than actual wine by the time I was wasted. BUT, the point is to get drunk RIGHT? So as a whole, it’s O.K. for anyone tight on cash and you can’t spend the actual money on a decent bottle of wine. But if you have run out of wines to try, this is a definite new experience.

Sutter Home - White Zinfadel

It took a bit, but this wine is drinkable…barely.

Review: Friday night was when it all started, I figured I would try my wine like I normally would and everything would be hunky dory. I was definitely wrong. This wine was first on the agenda and to my dismay I found out rather quickly that it was really bitter and dry. It is drinkable mind you, but just barely…I do have to say that if you want to get drunk though, this wine is the one for you! Only two of these baby bottles literally put me under the table which really surprised me. I would recommend this wine to people who have already had a plethora of wines under their belt because this one is not for the feint of heart. Overall, it didn’t taste so bad that I couldn’t drink it but it was really close.

A Dastardly Night of Threes: FlipFlop-Cabernet Sauvignon

Flip Flop Cabernet Sauvignon

Literally right in the middle…

Review: I heard from a friend that FlipFlop is a great brand of wine to try, so I took the plunge and I got this one and two others. (Those reviews will come later this week!) But I have to admit that this Cabernet Sauvignon was much better than the one from Sutter Home for sure. I actually finished off my night by drinking half of this bad boy and I was quite pleased. I will admit that it is slightly earthy and robust but the flavor was tolerable and I was able to drink it without difficulty. If you have run out of different wines to try, this one could be a next possible choice. But just be forewarned, it is a little hard to handle at first but in the end you can drink it and that is all that matters.
